Enphase Energy has announced a new integration between its IQ Batteries and Evergen, a leading distributed energy and virtual power plant (VPP) orchestration platform used by several major energy retailers across Australia and New Zealand. This collaboration is designed to enhance how homeowners manage and benefit from their solar and battery systems. Enphase, known globally for its microinverter-based solar and battery solutions, already supports more than 65 VPP programs across eight countries. Through this integration, the company brings its experience in enabling households to actively participate in grid services, helping improve energy flexibility and system efficiency.
Evergen’s advanced optimization and VPP platform allows energy retailers to offer Enphase system owners smarter energy management options. These include charging batteries when electricity prices are low, exporting stored energy back to the grid during peak pricing periods, and participating in grid-support programs that reward users for flexible energy use. The availability of these features depends on factors such as the retailer, system configuration, and local state regulations. Eligible homeowners may also benefit from a range of financial incentives. These can include state-level programs in regions such as South Australia and New South Wales, retailer sign-up bonuses, and ongoing participation credits.
In addition, Australia’s federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program can reduce the upfront cost of eligible battery systems by up to 30%, subject to specific terms and conditions. According to Evergen, the integration expands both choice and value for Australian households. The platform enables homeowners to better optimize their Enphase battery systems, participate in VPP programs, and potentially generate new income streams while contributing to a more stable and resilient electricity grid. Australia’s combination of federal rebates, state incentives, and retailer-driven programs is creating strong momentum for the adoption of home battery systems.
When combined with platforms like Evergen and other integrations such as Amber Electric, Enphase customers gain additional tools to reduce costs and maximize the value of their energy systems. Enphase highlighted that Australia continues to be a global leader in home energy innovation. The company sees this integration as another step toward giving homeowners greater control over their energy usage while improving the overall return on their solar and battery investments. By bringing together financial incentives, smart optimization platforms, and advanced technology, the initiative aims to accelerate battery adoption and deliver a more efficient and flexible energy experience for consumers.
