Recent clean energy developments across the Middle East show continued momentum in storage, solar, green hydrogen and sustainable finance. According to SolarQuarter, Saudi Arabia has opened pre-qualification for six battery energy storage projects with a combined 3,000 MW / 12,000 MWh capacity.

Masdar has also reiterated its long-term ambition to reach 100 GW of clean energy capacity, while Emirates Development Bank has provided AED 272 million in financing to companies in priority sectors including renewable energy and advanced technology. In Jordan, cooperation with the EBRD is expected to support renewable energy, storage, grid upgrades and green hydrogen planning.

Together, these updates point to a regional shift from standalone solar growth toward broader clean energy ecosystems. Storage, financing, grid readiness and industrial partnerships are becoming central to the next phase of Middle East energy transition.
