NEEPCO has issued an online bidding notice for the second stage of a residential rooftop solar initiative covering Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura. SolarQuarter reported that the tender falls under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and is intended to create state-wise rate contracts.
Only technically qualified channel partners from the first-stage process are eligible. Bidders must participate for all three states together, and the work will be allocated based on consumer registrations through the national portal.
The scope includes site surveys, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and long-term maintenance of grid-connected rooftop systems. For the Northeast, demand-driven rooftop solar can help expand household access to clean power while giving consumers a clearer path to subsidy-backed installations. The tender also reflects the importance of local service capacity in residential solar growth.
