Solar Plant Brings Electricity Access to Mozambique’s Nsadzu Community
Time:2026-10-21 Click:0

A newly commissioned solar power plant is bringing electricity access to Nsadzu, a rural community in Mozambique’s Tete province that was previously outside the national grid.

Connections for local services

The National Energy Fund, FUNAE, oversaw installation of the facility and will manage the initial connection rollout. The plant is intended to supply households, businesses, schools, healthcare facilities and other public institutions, as well as community lighting.

Off-grid electrification

The development illustrates how solar installations can serve remote settlements where extending conventional electricity networks is difficult. Access to power is expected to support essential services and local commercial activity. No plant capacity or connection total was specified in the reported project details.
