Shakti Pumps has secured a major Maharashtra order for 6,580 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems. SolarQuarter reported that the contract from MSEDCL is valued at about Rs 155.24 crore including GST and will support the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana.
The scope includes design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of pumps in 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP categories. The project is expected to move quickly, with execution linked to work orders and notices to proceed.
Solar irrigation remains an important growth segment in India because it can reduce diesel use, lower farmer energy costs and improve access to reliable water pumping. The order also strengthens Shakti Pumps' position in distributed renewable energy equipment, particularly in agricultural applications where decentralized systems can deliver immediate operational benefits.
