India has reiterated its progress on climate and renewable energy goals, with Union Minister Piyush Goyal pointing to the country's early achievement of key clean energy milestones. According to SolarQuarter, the minister said India has reached about 260 GW of renewable energy capacity and is pursuing a 500 GW clean energy target by 2030.

The remarks were delivered during a climate resilience dialogue in New Delhi, where India's role in global climate negotiations and renewable deployment was also emphasized. The minister highlighted solar capacity growth as a central part of the country's transition strategy.

India's clean energy buildout remains one of the most closely watched markets globally. Achieving the 2030 target will require continued investment in solar, wind, storage, transmission and domestic manufacturing, along with policy coordination across central and state agencies.
