OCI Energy and Arava Power have entered into a Membership Interest Purchase Agreement (MIPA) to jointly develop a 670 MWdc utility-scale solar project in La Salle County, Texas, further strengthening their collaboration in the US renewable energy market.

Under the agreement, OCI Energy and Arava Power will each hold a 50% stake in the La Salle Solar project and will jointly oversee financing, construction, ownership, and long-term operations of the asset.

The project is expected to become one of the largest solar developments in their combined portfolio, with an anticipated ability to power approximately 100,000 homes upon commissioning. Commercial operations are targeted for 2028.

This marks the third joint venture between the two companies in Texas, underscoring a deepening strategic partnership focused on scaling utility-scale solar infrastructure in one of the United States’ most active renewable energy markets.

Texas continues to attract significant investment in solar energy due to strong electricity demand growth, favourable solar irradiation conditions, and an increasingly competitive market for large-scale renewable power procurement.
