Blueleaf Signs Two Japan Solar Power Agreements with Microsoft
Time:2026-10-29 Click:4

Blueleaf Energy has signed two long-term agreements to supply Microsoft with electricity from new Japanese solar projects.

Development model

Microsoft will be the sole offtaker. Blueleaf will develop the projects under a build, own and operate model, retaining ownership and operating responsibility. Commissioning is targeted for mid-2027.

Corporate procurement

Macquarie’s Energy Markets and Customer Solutions team coordinated the agreements. The new Japanese projects extend the companies’ renewable procurement relationship; the 540 MW of wind and solar cited for earlier collaboration relates to projects in other markets, rather than the capacity of these two facilities.
