The seventh AgriVoltaics World Conference concluded in New Delhi with discussions on combining agricultural production and solar electricity generation.
The event, hosted by India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, examined crop selection, agro-climatic zoning, water efficiency and financing. Researchers highlighted the need for site-specific evidence on shading, crop growth and water use before choosing system designs.
Farmer groups and rural entrepreneurs discussed maintenance, commercial viability and participation in project planning and operations. The conference emphasised that solar integration should support viable farming rather than assume uniform benefits across crops and regions. Hosting responsibility for the 2027 conference was handed to France.
