Malaysia’s Perak state has 28 solar initiatives representing more than 1,400 MW, with projects at both operational and development stages.
State government data point to a growing solar portfolio as Perak diversifies its electricity sector. Renewable power availability is expected to support investment interest from manufacturing, technology companies and data centres. The total includes proposed developments and should not be read as installed operating capacity.
Perak is also examining solar generation on disused mining ponds through collaborations involving agricultural development bodies and energy companies. Such projects could use underutilised water areas while limiting additional land requirements. Their development remains subject to technical, environmental and commercial assessments.
